Yona has four plans: Free, Starter, Professional and Business. Each plan comes with credits every month. You use credits as you work, for example when you create an invoice, check it or report it to NRS.
Some things cost nothing. Viewing your invoices and the automatic status checks are free. If you run low on credits, you can top up at any time.
Yona is live, and you can practise every step in the sandbox before you pay for anything. This guide explains how the pricing fits together. Prices can change, so the live list is always on the pricing page at /pricing.
Each plan comes with credits every month. A paid plan can also be billed yearly, which works out at two months free (see below).
The pricing page at /pricing always shows the current prices and how many credits each plan includes.
A credit is a unit inside Yona, not a sum of money. Your plan says how many credits you get each month. The price list says how many credits each action uses.
Credits come out of your business's balance. It does not matter who did the work: a person on your team in the app, or your own software through the Yona API. The same price list applies to both.
An action uses credits when it happens. These are the main ones. The pricing page at /pricing shows what the most common ones cost, and the full price list is in the Billing area of the Yona app.
A lot of everyday work uses no credits at all.
When you report an invoice, Yona first sets the credits aside. This is called a hold. If NRS refuses the invoice before registering it, the hold is released and nothing is charged. The credits are taken only once NRS registers the invoice.
Verifying a buyer's tax number works the same way: if NRS cannot answer, the hold is released.
If the same action is retried on the same invoice, it is never charged twice. Sending an invoice again after NRS refused it counts as a new report.
If an action needs more credits than you have, Yona refuses it and nothing is half done. Work that cannot wait, such as emailing an invoice to a buyer who is not on the e-invoicing network, still goes ahead, and the shortfall is recorded.
You can buy more credits (a top-up) in the Yona app at any time. The app takes you to the payment provider's checkout to pay.
To avoid surprises, set a low-balance alert in the app. When your balance drops below the level you choose, the app shows a banner.
If you pay for a year, you pay for ten months and get twelve months of credits. That is two months free compared with paying month by month.
The sandbox is a practice copy of the real flow. It runs against the NRS test system, and nothing you do there has legal effect.
Sandbox actions use the same credit prices as live, but they come from a separate sandbox balance. That balance refills every month, and you can top it up for free in the app. So you can see what your real usage would cost before you spend anything.
Some organisations want Elyonar to connect the ERP, accounting or billing system they already run to NRS. Elyonar is a licensed System Integrator (NITDA/2026/S21ZW0), so we can build that connection for you.
This is priced by agreement. We agree the scope, the price and the timeline with you in writing. See /integration to start the conversation. If your own team wants to build on the Yona API instead, see /developers.
Choose Get started on useyona.com and sign up. Verify your business, then select Elyonar as your Access Point on the NRS e-invoicing portal. An Access Point is a licensed company that carries your invoices to NRS; Elyonar LTD is licensed by NITDA as one (NITDA/2026/A3HXS0). The guide at /nrs-e-invoicing/select-access-point shows each step.
Not sure when your business has to start? The mandate timeline at /nrs-e-invoicing#mandate shows who must be ready, and when. For words you are not sure of, see the glossary at /guides/glossary.

Yes. The Free plan costs ₦0 a month and comes with starter credits, so you can try Yona. You can also practise every step in the sandbox, which has its own free balance.
A credit has no cash value. It is a unit inside Yona. Your plan says how many credits you get each month, and the price list on /pricing says how many credits each action uses.
It depends on what you do with each invoice. Reporting an invoice uses credits, and so can creating it, checking it or downloading a PDF, while viewing and automatic status checks are free. Compare the credits each plan includes with the cost of the main actions on /pricing, and try your own routine in the sandbox first.
Not for reporting it. Yona holds the reporting credits first and releases them if NRS refuses the invoice before registering it. Other actions, such as creating the draft, are charged when they happen. The credits are taken only once NRS registers the invoice.
The action is refused and nothing is half done. Top up in the Yona app at any time, and set a low-balance alert so the app warns you before you run out.
Yes. A year costs the same as ten months and gives you twelve months of credits, which is two months free.
No separate price list applies. Actions done through the API use credits from the same balance as actions in the app.
Yes. The current prices and credits are always on the pricing page at /pricing.
